High School Teams and School-Affiliated Clubs:
It has recently been brought to our attention that there has been some confusion as to the qualification / entry process for teams, as well as questions pertaining to restrictions regarding participation. I am sending this e-mail to help clear up this confusion.
In regard to the qualification / entry process, as stated in the announcement, the pilot event we call the 2015 High School Final competition, is open to any registered High School team with a current School-Affiliated Club membership. Teams do not need to qualify by virtue of placement at their State competition to advance to compete at this event. Thus, all teams are welcome to enter and compete at the 2015 High School Final competition, as it is an open entry event.
Keep in mind that this event is a nonqualifying competition being offered by the Greater Cleveland Council of FSC for High School teams and skaters; thus it should not interfere with individual State rules or restrictions. Please check with your individual state authority to determine any restrictions. I want you to know that the Program Development Committee created this event to encourage and foster more competitive participation opportunities for student-athletes throughout high school. We look forward to the future of High School skating and welcome your participation in great events such as this!
The deadline to register for the 2015 High School Final competition has been extended to March 16, 2015. The announcement is attached.
