CONGRATULATIONS!!!
The Greater
Cleveland Council of Figure Skating Clubs would like to congratulate Katie
Collins (Pavilion SC) and Parker Pennington (Winterhurst FSC). They are the only two Ohio
skaters that are being honored at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Los
Angeles, California during the week of January 6 -13, 2002 as part of the 2002
Chevrolet/USFSA Scholastic Honors Team. This award is given annually by
Chevrolet to 12 outstanding young skaters and scholars. The applicants
were required to meet the following criteria.
- Be a full-time student entering the
Junior or Senior year of High School. Applicant must be enrolled in a
fully accredited secondary school, attend classes and carry the minimum
number of credit hours necessary to be a full-time student.
- Maintain at least a 3.4 GPA (based
on a 4.0 scale) during the last 2 years.
- Must have competed in a USFSA
qualifying competition at the Novice, Junior or Senior level during the past
two years.
- The skaters must have submitted a
certified copy of their grades and a 500 word essay on a choice of three
topics.
Katie and
Parker will be honored during an on-ice presentation at Nationals.
Congratulation to both of you, all of Cleveland is very proud of you!
