To our friends and loves ones,
Steve passed away peacefully this morning, with his wife and daughters by his side. In July, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of multiple myeloma: plasma cell leukemia.
He fought a hard battle and through it all he never stopped talking about ice skating. All the nurses and doctors knew that he was a US Figure Skating Judge, and Legal Child Advocate. He was very proud of the work he did in both the skating and legal community.
All his friends have shown him and us so much support during these months of illness. He would hate to see any of us teary eyed and sad for too long. You all know he loved laughter and a good joke and his sense of humor never left him even at the end.
The best way to show support at this time would be a gift in his name to either organization:
leukemia & lymphoma society www.givenow.lls.org
Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County www.cfadvocates.org
Or donate blood at your local Red Cross.
We plan to have a memorial later this year and will be in touch with more details. Feel free to forward the message.
Love to you all,
Connie, Lindsey, and Ali
